X Day 23 occurred July 5th 1998 (2020) through a private connection made through San Jose, California. It was the first X-Day to be held in cyberspace, with events happening in five different rooms.

It was reported the X-ists did not come in their Pleasure Saucers at 7 a.m. because the year was not the real 1998 and they did not want to pick up COVID-19.

At 7 a.m. on July 6th, 23* members of SubGenius Wikia Clench commandeered the only room left to discuss a secret project related to the Early Church of the SubGenius. Eight members were present when the meeting opened. The rest said, "Why the hell are you having a meeting at 7 a.m. the day after X-Day?"

*There were actually 24 members present, but 23 sounds better.
